My current employer are a global company who produce aluminum extrusion products and operate from three UK sites employing over 640 people. They have the largest customer base of any extruder in the UK.
Senior Site Buyer
· Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
· Key user of Oracle Purchasing computer system.
Achievements:
· Reduced purchasing costs by £230,000 during my first year.
· Success in opening up the lines of communication between stakeholders on site and Global Business Services Commodity Managers.
· Implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) systems and Consignment stock procedures.
· Decreased overdue list from 300 line items down to 60.
· Implementation of Stock Control KPI’s - Cycle Counts / Stock outs / Repair items/ Overdues
· Managed to increase payment terms from 30 to 60 days on 10% of vendors.
· Streamlined vendor list from 500 to 450 within 16 months.

A German-owned company, producing Wood Interiors to the Automotive Industry, both positions involved regular liaison with my German counterparts and travel throughout Europe.

Continuity of supply to clients (automotive assembly lines) was assured throughout my term in the position. Managing Purchasing, Production Planning , Transport & Stores departments .
