The role provides an Environmental Health and Safety consultancy service to managers within the groups 8 strategic operations located in 20 sites between Birmingham and Aberdeen with c1500 employees of various disciplines and both static and roaming engineers to allow legislative compliance, good practice and corporate adherence.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • co-ordination of EH&S activities, provision of support, advice and guidance to managers and employees, while completing specialist risk assessments and site H&S, environmental and energy audits.
  • Accident investigation, compilation of statistics and analysis of results
  • Development of EH&S policy and introduction of corporate practices
  • Training and personal development of staff

GROUP HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

 

 

The role, reporting to the Group managing Director/Owner is responsible for health, safety and environmental management throughout the groups 6 operational businesses within the UK and Ireland.

 

The group provides construction engineering services and facilities management throughout the construction industry and the full spectrum of manufacturing sectors including food, chemical, pharmaceutical and quarrying and therefore familiarity with food hygiene, white rooms and hazardous environment requirements is a necessity.

 

Responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Develop and manage H&S across the entire group portfolio
  • Ensure all group operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner  to minimise the likelihood of incidents
  • Identify and implement health, safety and environmental training requirements
  • Undertake site inspections and system audits across the groups own sites as well as 17 resident customer sites and short term project sites
  • Inform and advise on all health, safety and environmental responsibilities and legislation to the group MD, operational directors and site managers
  • Customer liaison for health, safety and environmental concerns. Queries, audits and inspections
  • Development and management of reactive and proactive health, safety and environmental performance indicators
  • Develop policies and procedures for legislative compliance in preparation for OHSAS18001 & BSENISO14001, introduce policies and undertake training, coaching and support of personnel
